When it comes to February 14th, it's all too easy to spend our energy focusing on what we have or don't have, especially in terms of romance and ideal love. But whether you are married or single, madly in love or heartbroken, Valentine's Day is much more than a candlelit dinner, roses, and a box of chocolates. It is a call for all of us to wrap our arms further around this world and spread more love into its cracks and crevices. In the popular prayer Make Me An Instrument of Your Peace, St. Francis of Assisi invoked, "For it is in giving that we receive." It is true that in order to obtain what it is you need, you must first give it away. When we open our hands and our hearts and truly give from the heart, love comes back to us tenfold. By living out this simple truth, February 14, 2015, has the potential to be your best your Valentine's Day yet, regardless of relationship status.
